Artistic ceramic wall plate with applications and metallic reflections
The wall plate in contemporary ceramic was hand-shaped in Italy with the metallic reflections technique and embossed applications. The contemporary design artwork is a furnishing decoration made in an unique piece and non reproducible. Every phase of the making, from the moulding to the final decoration, followed the best artisanal tradition of the Italian ceramic making. The applications, moulded and applied by hand, reflect the modern style made of linear games and irregular spheres with particular attention to the chromatic match.
The ceramic decoration technique with “reflections” is very particular and difficult to perform, it takes the necessary tools, materials and knowledge in order to be able to foresee the decoration final result. The iridescent color and the metallic shades are obtained thank to the application of special glazes which usually are personally created by the ceramist artist Giuseppe Liberati. For the “reflections” technique a third cooking is required, at 720°C. At this temperature, in the oven, some oxygen reductions are induced, which allow the transformation of the metal salts which make the colors become iridescent.
The colours matching brings out the metallic yellow and grey shades, giving light and relief to the application on the plate. The artwork may be divided in three parts: minimal applications on the left with metallic yellow background, linear application in the central part with metallic grey shades and vertical irregular applications on the right. The decorative elements are different but linked in the symbology of number three, both in the decoration division and in the elements number, as a creativity expression and development.
