To drill the sphere are required mastery, skills and many working hours. The clay thickness and the delicacy of the spherical shape, make the shaping process very hard, even when the clay has the right hardness. Once the free-hand drilling phase is completed, the ball is cooked with the bisque technique and then covered in a transparent crystalline glaze. Thus, the matt crystalline on white terracotta does not alter the colour and gives shine to the object. The phase is the second cooking that strenghtens the shape. The Christmas Sphere has an opaque white colour, very elegant and polished.
