The Christmas ball was entirely handmade and hand drilled with typical artisanal methods. The driling has small, medium and large holes, irregularly placed.
To drill the sphere are required mastery, skills and many working hours are required. The clay thickness and the delicacy of the spherical shape, make the shaping process very hard, even when the clay has the right hardness. Once the free-hand drilling phase is completed, the ball is cooked with the bisque technique and then covered in a transparent crystalline glaze. Thus, the matt crystalline on white terracotta does not alter the colour and gives shine to the object. The last phase is the second cooking that strenghtens the shape. The Christmas Sphere has an opaque white colour, very elegant and polished.
This refined Christmas ball is an unique piece. The ball is equipped with its clip, as in the picture, ready to be hung on the tree and used as a Christmas decoration.
