Handmade design raku ceramic panel on wooden support
The raku ceramic panel is mounted on a wooden base and it is intended for interior design furnishing. When purchasing the object, a Guarantee Certificate will be attached to prove the craftsmanship of the work.
An unique and exclusive panel that fully reflects the contemporary style of modern ceramics. The panel was made following the antique Japanese technique called “raku”. This particular technique also spread outside Japan, about in Eighteenth century thanks to a manual explaining this complicated manufacturing process. Nowadays, this technique is spread worldwide. The main difference between majolica (traditional ceramic) and raku is that for the first one the object slowly cools down, while for the second one the object is extracted by the oven still incandescent, then creating a spectacular effect at the moment of extraction. Therefore, the oxygen reduction and the thermic shock allow to obtain, sometimes, unpredictable and unique chromatic effects with particular shades.
The raku ceramic panel decoration was created depending on the chromatic contrasts which allow to highlight the embossed elements. The color matching makes the design artwork suitable to different and refined furnishing styles. The wooden support is equipped with hooks, ready to be hung on the wall.
