Raku ceramic centrepiece, engraved triangles
Raku ceramic centrepiece decorated with embossed triangles
Raku ceramic centrepiece decorated with embossed triangles. The raku ceramic centrepiece is moulded by hand using the potter’s wheel and decorated with embossed triangles placed all along the irregular edges of the centrepiece. The contemporary artefact is a unique piece, non reproducible, made by Master Giuseppe Liberati in perfect Italian ceramic contemporary style. The clay processing was entirely artisanal, following the best potter’s wheel techniques and then the object was cooked using the “raku” technique.
The main difference between majolica (traditional ceramic) and raku is that for the first one the object slowly cools down, while for the second one the object is extracted by the oven still incandescent, then creating a spectacular effect at the moment of extraction. Therefore, the oxygen reduction and the thermic shock allow to obtain, sometimes, unpredictable and unique chromatic effects with particular shades. The turquoise green shades of the centrepiece putter surface have iridescent and metallic effects, typical of the raku technique. While the inner surface starts with light tones on the edges and then melts with the green at the center.
The centrepiece is a unique and exclusive design object, created and shaped by Master Giuseppe Liberati with his own signature. When purchasing, to the object there will be attached a Guarantee Certificate as a warranty of the craftsmanship of the product.
