Raku ceramic centrepiece aqua blue
Raku ceramic technique centrepiece aqua blue design
The modern ceramic raku centrepiece, with a modern and contemporary design, is moulded, finished and decorated by hand by Master Giuseppe Liberati. The clay making was made following artisanal methods and the extremely finished decoration is the result of a deeply-rooted experience in the Italian artistic craftsmanship.
For this artwork, the Master chose to complete the making using the raku technique. The clay moulding to create the raku naked ceramic panel was done by the hand, the creativity, the genius and technical skills of the Master and Artist Giuseppe Liberati, all these things allow him to manually create any shape. The centrepiece outer surface has a decorative motif made of engraved symmetrical circles which completely cover the centrepiece outer surface. The centerpiece coloration has aqua blue tones, while in the inner surface there is an amazing craquelé effect, typical of raku technique. This technique was invented in Japan by an artisan named Chojiro.
The main difference between majolica (traditional ceramic) and raku is that for the first one the object slowly cools down, while for the second one the object is extracted by the oven still incandescent. Therefore, the oxygen reduction and the thermic shock allow to obtain, sometimes, unpredictable and unique chromatic effects with particular shades. To obtain the craquelé effect different factors need to be considered, sometimes the knowlede is not enough and the experience has a decisive role. The final effect depends on several factors, the most important are those regarding the choice and the treatment of the material in order to make unique pieces with a great artistic depth. Moreover, are also important the mixture, the type and the exact composition of glazes and colours.
The aqua blue raku ceramic centrepiece was made in modern home design style and it is an artwork which reflects the trends of the contemporary Italian ceramic. When purchasing, to the object there will be attached a Guarantee Certificate as a warranty of the craftsmanship of the product. Unique piece.
