Raku ceramic decor panel
Contemporary raku ceramic decor panel for interior design
The ceramic decor panel was handmade using raku technique. The panel is made up of three ceramic parts built on a corten steel support that has been processed until reached a rust coat effect. The raku ceramic decor panel is a not reproducible, unique piece made by Ceramiche Liberati.
The “raku” technique is an ancient ceramic making method as well as one of the most fascinating ones; it was born in Japan, invented by an artisan named Chojiro. The main difference between majolica (traditional ceramic) and raku is that for the first one the object slowly cools down, while for the second one the object is extracted by the oven still incandescent. The temperature difference and the oxygen reduction allow to obtain very special colourings. Moreover, the embossed decoration was coloured in order to enhance the final effect of the red, green and violet shades, that make a strong contrast with the dark grey ceramic base. The chromatic range is perfectly balanced thanks to the study for the application of glazes and colors when performing the raku technique.
The support is equipped with hooks, ready to be hung on the wall. We recommend to hang the raku decor panel on an interior wall, directing the lights to the upper, central and lower part of the artwork. A Guarantee certificate will be attached to every artistic artefact in order to guarantee their unicity and craftsmanship.
