The careful details and the touchig matching of the colors make it a unique object with a high artistic depth.
All the objects part of the brand “Fenice” are characterized by decorations with embossed glazes, which follow the rules of the traditional decorating technique ”cuerda seca” of Hispanic – Moorish origins. The name of the decoration derives from the use of a cord soaked in grease with which the desired design was created on a tile and then, the blank spaces werefilled with colorful glazes. This technique allows to obtain embossed chromatic effects with vibrant colours on flat surfaces, while the curve surfaces of unrefined ceramics are more difficult to decorate.
The dry cord decoration technique is still not widespread in Italy. In Abruzzo, the dry cord technique is performed by Marta Liberati, one of the first ceramists working with this technique in our region.
The centerpiece is entirely handmade and hand-decorated; it can also be used as a wall plate and is equipped with a hook. The decoration was made usig the cuerda seca technique, in English ‘dry cord’. When purchasing, to the object there will be attached a Guarantee Certificate as a warranty of the craftsmanship of the product.
